ECPP Regulations' aims and goals
The ECPP is an organization whose purpose is to bring together all psychoanalytic psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic organizations based on the concepts of transference and resistance. The Confederation is established to promote the art and science of psychoanalytic psychotherapies for the benefit of public. This is to be done by:
a. Promoting the dialog and the exchange of information among Members of ECPP to further their intellectual, scientific, creative and social knowledge and practice in a manner similar to other fields of psychotherapy;
b. Spreading and propagating the theory that psychoanalytic psychotherapies as practiced in a specific culture requires an understanding and appreciating of integration into that specific culture or society;
c. Offering its members a supporting structure through the exchange and interchange of information and experience;
d. Developing and supporting all kinds of activities as e.g. the organization of congresses, workshops or other meetings, issuing publications and collecting and compiling publications related to the subject;
e. Obtaining official recognition for the specialty of the psychoanalytic psychotherapies in various European countries.
